Ex-Ghana international Asamoah has Carlisle ambitions

Former Ghana international striker Derek Asamoah is training with League Two Carlisle with the hope of earning a deal. The 33 year old, who played under Blues boss Keith Curle at Mansfield and Chester, is to spend this week with the Cumbrians.

"Whether you could call it a trial I don't know - he's doing some conditioning work to get himself in a position where he could play a couple of games," Curle told the News & Star.

"We were thinking about an in-house game, but I don't like them. I like a little bit more competitive edge."
