Aaron Hughes insists he is thrilled to be with Brighton & Hove Albion after crossing from QPR in the summer.
The 34-year old Northern Ireland international signed a one-year contract with the Seagulls in the recent transfer window and is now looking to be a regular for the south coast club after failing to gain regular football towards the end of his days with Fulham.
Hughes departed Craven Cottage for Loftus Road in January this year but is now excited to begin a new chapter in the Championship with Brighton.
"Any time you join a new club it feels like a fresh start but I've settled in pretty quickly and it's a fantastic set-up at Brighton, a fantastic club. So far, so good," the defender told The Argus.
"It's early days but I'm enjoying it so far."
The former Newcastle United man added: "The league is very competitive and this year there are so many teams with a chance.
"It's going to be a long tough season and you can never predict it.
"Momentum is everything in this division because a string of results can really make a difference."
