Former FA chief Gareth Southgate feels Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney may've already peaked. Gone are the days when people mentioned Rooney in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo suggesting that, despite an enviable record of 182 goals in 368 games for United, he could be on the decline.
Southgate told The Sun: "He's still a young man so hopefully we're still to see the best of him.
"But some players peak young and their best years are earlier than others.
"We won't know with Wayne Rooney if that's the case until he's 28-30."
