Francis Jeffers isn't surprised by Blackpool's success in the Premier League this season.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker is currently playing in Australia with Newcastle Jets and did preseason at Blackpool.

He told tribalfootball.com: The manager drills it home that he believes in them. There's a good buzz about the place, the lads are great. I enjoyed every minute of being there for the few weeks I was there.

"I didn't expect them to win so many games but I expected them to make it tough for other teams and I expected them to score goals like they have been doing in every game they play because the manager wants to go forward and attack teams and that's his motto.

"The best thing is to go at teams, no matter where they're playing, whether it be at Emirates or against the lesser teams, they are going to have a right go at every team and I'm not surprised how well they are doing."
