Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Darron Gibson is training with Salford City.
The Manchester Evening News says the Ammies have no plans to offer Gibson a contract at the moment as he seeks to resurrect his career, having been without the club since leaving Wigan Athletic in the summer.
Gibson joined United as a 17-year-old and spent eight years at Old Trafford, making 60 senior appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson, scoring 10 times.
The Republic of Ireland international found the back of the net in a Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich and in a semi-final against Schalke, but he never fulfilled his promise and left the club in January 2012 to join Everton.
He was released by Wigan in the summer but has been invited to train with Class of 92-owned Salford City, who are managed by Graham Alexander.
