Former Espanyol president Joan Collet hit out at Barcelona players after last night's pitch invasion.
Barca were confirmed LaLiga champions with their win at Espanyol and initially celebrated inside the centre circle.
This sparked anger from home fans, with many invading the pitch and chasing Barca's players all the way to their dressing room.
"I think it was a provocation, because of what came before, because of what had been agreed and because of what happened," Collet said on El Món a RAC1.
“Xavi himself recognised that they probably shouldn't have done it, when the game was over and the players hugged and jumped, people didn't say anything and even the Espanyol players stayed in the centre of the field to applaud the champions.
“An agreement had been reached between the clubs, the Mossos had advised it… Why is it that they continued with the theme of the circle later? The second part was a provocation, recognised by themselves, and we fell for it.
"If Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta and (Carles) Puyol had been on the field, this would not have happened because they have a bit of understanding.
"What would have happened if Madrid had celebrated the title in Barcelona's field?
“(The fans) didn't jump in to attack the players either, they just wanted them to go to the locker room."
