Houston Dynamo winger Giles Barnes admits he is loving life in the USA.
The 25-year old London-born attacking midfielder departed the UK for Texas in August last year and is relishing his new environment even if it is a touch humid at times.
"The heat's always going to be something to try and get used to after living in England for 24 years of my life but I'm loving the experience and loving living over here," Barnes told The Guardian.
"I just felt like I needed a change from everything and it was a close one whether to stay in Europe or come to America."
The former Derby County, West Bromwich Albion and Doncaster Rovers also suggests that he may not be looking to head back to England anytime soon even though is now injury-free and in form.
"I don't think England's the be-all and end-all. I think some people, that's where they go wrong in their career because they don't want to experience new things," he added.
"They don't want to challenge themselves in other places. I'm not one to preach but it was a good time for me to come out here and try something different and I'm enjoying it so far."
