Sydney FC have recorded their first win of the A-League season thanks to a late winner from marquee midfielder Nick Carle.
The former Crystal Palace man struck in the 81st minute with a calm finish to see the Sky Blues score a 2-1 victory against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium. Carle received a through ball from Karol Kisel before slotting under an advancing Eugene Galekovic.
Earlier, ex-FC Nuremberg attacker Dario Vidosic put the Reds in front when he pounced on a defensive error to score from the six-yard box just before the half-hour mark but Sydney leveled through Jamie Coyne who smashed home Terry Antonis' low cross about 30 minutes later.
The win allowed Vitezslav Lavicka's men to temporarily move up to fourth on the table as the Reds slipped to sixth.
