Chris Rolfe admits it feels weird to be back playing in March after undergoing the traditional winter break that takes place every year in Scandinavia.

The 29-year old attacker and his Aalborg teammates are back in action after beginning their break in December and the former Chicago Fire man says it is a bit odd to be resuming halfway through the campaign with the team sitting seventh on the Danish SuperLiga table.

"It's pretty strange," Rolfe told MLSsoccer.com.

"We go a few months without games and so many things can happen. You can pick up players, change coaches, players pick up injuries, recover from injuries.

"Anyone can turn it around in the second half. I think it's kinda hard to even judge what you're going to be up against until you get to see the teams play a couple of games."

And Rolfe is looking to push into European football with Aalborg as he ponders the next stage of his career.

"That's very important to me," he said of playing in European competition.

"That was one of the main goals when I came over here: to be with a club that had a chance to play in one of the European [cups]. If we were able to earn a Europa League berth, that is certainly something that could convince me to stay."
