Ex-Chelsea keeper Turnbull returns to Barnsley

League One club Barnsley have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.

The 29-year old has signed a two-year deal with the Tykes, returning to Oakwell after two previous loan spells in 2004 and 2005.

Turnbull spent last season with Doncaster Rovers, making close to 30 league appearances, following a four-year stint at Chelsea.

"As soon I knew Barnsley were interested, I wanted to sign," said Turnbull.

"I know (Barnsley goalkeeping coach) Mark Crossley from my time at Middlesbrough as well. He was very complimentary of the club and now I'm looking forward to the new season."
