Ex-Chelsea keeper Cech adds to Hiddink claims of UCL 2009 semi shock

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has had his say on the Champions League semifinal defeat to Barcelona in 2009.

Blues manager at time Guus Hiddink spoke yesterday of his suspicions around the game.

And Cech has also stated, "We lost the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona with…a complete performance from the ref.

"It was unbelievable to be involved in that game. It really was tough to take, but at the same time it showed we were ready to compete with the best team in the world. We were back. The FA Cup win confirmed that. When Carlo Ancelotti arrived, the team was in a good position again."

Hiddink told Ziggo Sport on Saturday: "The referee performance surprised me, because in the past he'd had perfect performances. Is it the worst refereeing I've ever seen? I think so."

The Dutchman alleged: "This is the only time I thought a match could've been fixed."

Barca went on to beat Manchester United in the final.
