Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is favoured inside Real Madrid to succeed Carlo Ancelotti.

While he has a deal to 2024, Ancelotti's job is in doubt with Barcelona runaway LaLiga leaders. It's suggested Carletto will need to win the Champions League to remain in charge next season.

BILD says Tuchel is the top candidate for Real to replace the Italian. The German has been taking Spanish lessons since before Christmas. Tuchel has also let it be known he'd be keen to hear from Atletico Madrid.

Also on the board's shortlist is Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso and free agent Mauricio Pochettino.

Castilla coach Raul is another who has his supporters inside the board room.
