Ex-Chelsea boss Scolari set to take Brazil reins

Luiz Felipe Scolari is set to be appointed as the new manager of the Brazil national team.

The 64-year old former Chelsea, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro boss is on the verge of taking over for his second spell in charge of A Selecao following his stint in 2001-2002.

Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Jose Maria Marin indicated that Scolari's experience would be the right quality to lead Brazil in the2014 World Cup finals in their homeland.

"We did a thorough evaluation, we analysed various elements and especially experience," he told Jornal O Globo.

"A World Cup requires above all a lot of ability and experience."

The CBF last week sacked Mano Menezes after two years at the helm and are now likely to re-employ Scolari.
