Former Cagliari general manager Francesco Marroccu is being linked with Sunderland.
Marroccu was on Wearside last week and took in Sunderland's home defeat to Arsenal.
He could join Sunderland's front office, where he is close to new Black Cats football chief Roberto de Fanti.
