Former Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Griffin McMaster was on trial with Melbourne Victory this week.
The 27-year old, who signed an injury replacement contract with Wellington Phoenix when Reece Crowther went down in August, is free to explore his options and was seen training with the Victory on Monday and Tuesday.
It is unsure for what exact purpose McMaster was at Victory training, as Michael Petkovic has started every game and youngster Sebastian Mattei has sat on the bench.
Perhaps the club want to get Mattei playing more consistently in the youth team so he can further his development so will opt to bring in McMaster until the end of the season as Petkovic's back-up.
