Benni McCarthy has revealed that he has found it too difficult to split two of his former teammates.
The former Ajax, Celta Vigo, FC Porto, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United striker was asked by FourFourTwo magazine who he feels was the better player out of Deco and Robbie Savage.
McCarthy played with former Barcelona and Chelsea ace Deco at Porto and was teammates with Leicester City and Derby County legend Savage at Blackburn.
"They are two completely different players and it's not really fair to compare them," said the South African.
"Deco's still my mate. He was a magician - he could do anything with a football. But he didn't have the same work ethic that Savage had.
"Robbie had a very successful career in England and I really respect him for that."
