Former Barcelona vice-president Gabriel Masfurrol is surprised by Xavi's resignation reversal.

Barca are set to confirm Xavi for next season after initially announcing he'd step down at the end of the season.

Masfurrol said: "I believed that when he made the decision, he would keep it firm. Of course, imagine the image that was given. We are talking about Xavi and we are talking about Barcelona.

"I thought he would leave, I was convinced. Barça is like the Pop Magician, anything can happen."

Furthermore, Masfurroll acknowledged having spoken with Xavi: "I have spoken with him, and he seemed firm but I suppose there must be things that I don't know and that they do know."
