Ex-Barcelona, Chelsea midfielder Deco tests positive for banned substance

Reports have confirmed that Fluminense midfielder Deco has failed a doping test in Brazil.

The 35-year old former FC Porto, Barcelona and Chelsea star tested positive for banned substance Furosemide following his sides league clash with Boavista on March 30.

Deco purchased vitamins at a pharmacy which contained the loop diuretic Furosemide which is banned because it can be used as a masking agent for other drugs.

It has been suggested that Deco has appointed solicitors to take action against the company that produces the product in order to clear his name.
