Ex-Arsenal youth Monakana back at Brighton after Aberdeen spell

Brighton & Hove Albion have recalled Jeffrey Monakana from his loan stint with Aberdeen.

The 21-year old winger joined the Dons on a six-month loan in July but is now back at the Amex Stadium after making 10 appearances in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes confirmed that the Seagulls had taken former Arsenal youth academy midfielder and ex-Preston North End man Monakana back but hinted that there was a slight possibility he could return to Pittodrie at some point.

"Having spoken to the chief executive at Brighton they have taken the decision to recall Jeff in order to assess his situation further," he told the club's official website.

"The possibility of him going out on loan again hasn't been ruled out so there may be an option for him to rejoin us at the end of the month.

"Everyone at the club would like to thank Jeff for his contribution during his time here."
