Everything is a little brighter at Aston Villa - captain Vlaar

Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has praised the environment of the club's training ground after the recent appointment of Tim Sherwood.

Sherwood's team are still just three points above the relegation zone but two wins in their last three games and a FA Cup semi-final berth have created a feel good factor at the club.

Vlaar said: "Training feels really good, there's more energy, there's a high level of intensity and that's a good thing, I'm really pleased with that.

"So we're looking at the bright side now. It's a logical thing when a new gaffer comes in everyone has a new chance.

"You could see that back in training but it follows all over the place at Bodymoor, at Villa Park. Some good results helped as well."
