Everton's recent signing, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, has warned Merseyside's prolific burglars that there is no point targeting his new home, reports the Daily Mail. More than a dozen footballers in the north-west have been burgled in the last three years, but the Russia star says a raid on his apartment would be a waste of time and effort.
"I have been living for two-and-a-half weeks in a rented apartment, but here I have nothing," said the £10million signing from Lokomotiv Moscow.
"I was told that robbers come for all kinds of clocks and ornaments, but I don't have any.
"What will they come for, a TV or something? I heard that robbers come and demand that the owner opens his safe. I have one, but I don't use it.
"I don't even know how to open it."
