Everton fullback Leighton Baines and Tottenham defender Ledley King have been handed shock call-ups to the England squad for next Saturday's friendly with Slovakia and the World Cup qualifier with Ukraine on April 1.
Baines has been watched closely by coach Fabio Capello recently and the Everton's defender's impressive performances mean he has got the chance to act as understudy to first-choice left-back now Wayne Bridge has been sidelined by a hamstring injury.
And despite not being able to train, King has been handed his first call-up during the Capello regime as the England coach takes a closer look at the Tottenham man.
As expected, Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster makes the cut - also for the first time since Capello took charge.
