Everton youngster Jarrad Branthwaite has hailed the impact of James Tarkowski on his career.

The centre half returned from an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven last season.

However, he had to wait to get his chance in Sean Dyche's team, but soon formed a great partnership next to Tarkowski in the heart of defence.

"I've said in other interviews, that James is a big leader in the squad. But not only in the squad but for me playing alongside him," he told evertontv.

"He guides me through the game and tells me little things to do.

“It's a massive thing for a young player to have an experienced player next to him and hopefully, we can continue that partnership."
