Aiden McGeady suggests Jack Grealish is simply biding his time before choosing which country to represent.
The Aston Villa midfielder, 19, was born in England but has played for the Republic of Ireland at youth level which is a similar story to that of Everton's McGeady.
29-year old McGeady was born in Scotland but pledged his allegiance to Ireland and has since won 75 caps for the Boys in Green, making him well-versed to comment on the Grealish situation.
"I obviously don't know the full story really," said McGeady on Grealish's international prospects.
"Maybe he's waiting for a while to figure out in his head what he's going to do. Whether he wants to play for England or Ireland, I don't know.
"He's obviously played for the underage teams as well. He's got a big decision and he's taking his time about it, that's it really. I wasn't sure what decision he had to make."
