Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell believes Kyle Naughton will make the 2010 England World Cup squad if he is sold to a Premiership club this summer.
Everton are in talks with Naughton after having an offer accepted by the Blades last week.
Blackwell told the Sheffield Star: "If things go well for him then I would not be surprised to see him on the plane to South Africa.
"I've worked with the likes of (James) Milner and (Aaron) Lennon before and Kyle is right up there with them. That's how good he is.
"He's got terrific ability and if he does go then he goes with my best wishes because he's a smashing lad."
