Everton target Etherington: I want Stoke stay

Matthew Etherington says he's happy at Stoke City.

Everton have shown an interest in Etherington, who has been at the club since 2009 after moving from West Ham and signed a new four-year contract with the Potters last summer.

"I'm very pleased to have made the move and I'm very happy," he said.

"I want to be part of this team for a while yet. I would go as far saying that I'm probably playing the best football of career for Stoke.

"If I'm honest it has gone better than I thought, but that just shows we are doing something right."
