Everton have made a bid for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

The young Croatia international is a top target for AC Milan, though Everton are the first club this month to table an offer.

Sky Italia says the Blues have offered €5 million for Brozovic, though Dinamo are counting on closer to double that figure to sell.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez would see Brozovic as an eventual long-term successor for Gareth Barry.

The midfielder can play in an advanced role, but is rated highly as a defensive midfield screen.
