Everton skipper Phil Neville admits the quality of their January signings means they should be pushing for a high finish this season.

Neville reveals the smiles are back on faces around the club.

"Darron Gibson has come from a good pedigree, Steven Pienaar knows the club, Landon Donovan knows all about us and Nikica Jelavic is the goalscorer we have all been looking for," says the captain.

"When you make quality signings like that, it's a signal that we want to be in the top half of the table and push for European football. The manager has done well from his wheeling and dealing in the transfer market."
