Everton boss David Moyes has warned Manchester United off young gun Jack Rodwell.

The Premier League champions are keen on the 18-year old midfielder but Moyes is intent on keeping him at Goodison Park and preventing United from whisking him away like they did with Wayne Rooney in 2004.

"I think everyone will always look at your players but even if they come to me and say 'Gaffer, I want to leave' I will probably say no," he told the Sunday Mirror.

"Perhaps if someone made me an offer I thought was too good to turn down then maybe, but it is not about the money.

"I am not waiting for an offer - that's not what we are about."
