Everton have joined interest in Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.
The Daily Mail says manager David Moyes is focusing on bolstering Everton's squad in the January transfer window, with Wigan and Republic of Ireland midfielder McCarthy, 22, among their targets.
Arsenal are considering an £8 million offer for McCarthy.
