Everton midfielder Barkley: England youngsters determined to stay in U20 World Cup

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley says England's players are up for their U20 World Cup must-win clash with Chile.

Barkley wrote in the Daily Express: "If we get past Egypt tonight, we are through to the last 16 of the World Cup.

"No one here is ready to come home.

"We have to look at ourselves as players as to the reasons why we are in this position and make sure we learn and improve our performances.

"We should have beaten Iraq and in the last half-hour against Chile, we created enough chances to win.

"The brutal truth is that the whole team hasn't been clinical enough in front of goal.

"So now there is pressure on us.

"But we are confident we can get England's first Under-20 win at a World Cup since Michael Owen scored against Mexico in 1997."
