An Everton medical is scheduled for departing Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

The England international comes off contract at Turf Moor this month.

Aston Villa and Fulham have been in contact, though Everton appear to have won the race for his signature.

Tarkowski is expected to complete a move to Everton in the next few days, pending the outcome of a medical, says the Daily Mail.

The 29 year-old has spent the majority of his senior career with Burnley after initially coming through at Oldham Athletic.
