Everton keeper Howard ready for USA comeback

Tim Howard says he is set to return to the USA national team this year.

The Everton goalkeeper, 36, took a break from international football to spend more time with his family following last summer's World Cup in Brazil but says he is now ready to step back into the international fold.

"I took a year off to spend more time with my family and it's been good. Hopefully when September comes I'll be back in the fold," Howard told the ABC's breakfast show when plugging his autobiography 'The Keeper'.

Howard's last game for the US was in the 2-1 extra-time loss to Belgium in the Round of 16 where he broke the record for most saves in a World Cup match with 15.
