Everton are keen to hold onto Maarten Stekelenburg for the remainder of the season.
The Liverpool Echo says Everton have held talks with Stekelenburg over a short-term extension to his contract.
The Dutch goalkeeper is out of contract on June 30 and is not expecting to be offered a new long-term deal.
But Everton could yet keep the 37-year-old at the club until the end of July to cover the remaining games of the season.
Stekelenburg's existing deal would mean he is registered for the game with Liverpool on June 21 and the trip to Norwich City three days later.
