Everton are showing significant interest in Marseille's Nicolas N'Koulou.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez reportedly watched the 25-year old Cameroon international in action against Monaco on Sunday and is poised to make a move for the defender.

Martinez is seeking a new centre-back to replace Sylvain Distin and wants N'Koulou to push youngster John Stones for the starting position alongside Phil Jagielka.

N'Koulou, who has 51 caps for Cameroon, has been with Marseille since joining from Monaco in 2011. He has also been linked with Arsenal, Newcastle United and Napoli according to the Daily Mail.
