Everton are favourites to sign Tottenham midfielder Steven Bergwijn.

A deal is being discussed independent of Richarlison's move from Everton to Tottenham.

De Telegraaf says Spurs are believed to be open to selling the Netherlands international this summer amid interest from Everton and Ajax.

Bergwijn, 24, has also admitted that he is seeking a transfer as he looks to play regular football.

And it seems Everton have the upper hand as they are willing to offer Bergwijn more money than Ajax.

The Toffees are reportedly ready to match Tottenham's asking price too, believed to be in the region of £21million.

But Bergwijn is said to prefer a move to Ajax due to the Dutch champions being able to offer Champions League football.
