Everton eyeing Wigan keeper Al-Habsi

Everton are believed to be looking at a move for Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.

Reports suggest that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will turn to the Oman international, who he worked with so closely during his time at the DW Stadium, following the injury to Tim Howard.

USA veteran Howard is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after sustaining a calf injury on Boxing Day which has prompted Martinez to look at a possible replacement.

Al-Habsi has not featured for the Latics in the Championship this season as Scott Carson is preferred and coul;d be allowed to leave for free in the winter.

The only stumbling block, however, is that 33-year old Al-Habsi is set to travel to Australia with the Omani side for the 2015 Asian Cup which takes place in January.
