Everton still need a few more signings in the summer transfer window to compete in the Premier League.
That is the view of central defender James Tarkowski, who spoke after the club's first league game.
The Toffees lost 1-0 at home to Fulham on opening weekend of the new league campaign.
He said to reporters: "We lost a fair few in the summer, so we probably still do need a couple of new additions.
“I'm sure everyone behind-the-scenes is working as hard as they can to get players in."
"There is a whole department who is there to look at signing players, and I think from my perspective, we are just here to play with the players we have got right now," he added on their goal issues.
"We have got some very good players, and hopefully we will have Dom (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) back soon, and we signed Youssef (Chermiti) now as well, so there are options there already.
"There are a lot of options already for us and very good players. We are making the chances, so I am sure we will start putting them in the back of the net."
