Everton defender Sylvain Distin is eager to extend his career - just like Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs.
Distin relishes defying the aging process to maintain his peak physical condition for the rigours of top-flight football. Indeed, he is proud of his status as an ever-present in the starting line-up this term.
He told evertontv: "It maybe takes a bit longer to recover. After the games now I feel quite stiff and don't move so well - you pay for it the next day a little bit.
"You have to do whatever you can to slow down the effects of time and my answer has always been to do that bit extra so I always stay behind after training and do more. It has always worked for me so I keep doing it. For me it is about what you put in.
"There are some great examples around of players extending their careers and Ryan Giggs is definitely one. There isn't even any point in talking about him - you just need to look at the stats. They are amazing and speak for themselves."
