Everton are expected to close the signing of Real Betis midfielder Johann Vogel today.

The Mirror says the Swiss will jet in this morning for a medical, after agreeing terms last night on a three-year deal.

Vogel has been released by Betis following a largely unsuccessful campaign in Spain. But he arrives with a fabulous pedigree. He starred at Milan and before that with PSV when they reached the semi-final of the Champions' League in 2005.
