Everton boss David Moyes has missed out in a surprise bid to land Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas on loan for the rest of the season.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was looking for a reciprocal arrangement, with left-back Leighton Baines among the players in his sights, but said last night that the deal had fallen through.
