Everton boss David Moyes admits breaking into the top four will take a massive amount of transfer spending.
Moyes revealed: "We had a board meeting about two weeks ago and I said what I thought would be required.
"But it may be we may have a similar situation to last summer.
"I've thought about what I'll do if I don't have any cash and whether that would be able to sustain Everton being a club in the top half of the league - I'm not sure it can happen.
"I've not been told a thing yet, whether I've got a penny or £100million. And if there's no money, then the top 10 could be tough next time."
