Everton boss Roberto Martinez is wary of a banana skin against FA Cup opponents Stevenage Borough.
The Spaniard was winner of the FA Cup last term as manager of Wigan Athletic.
He said: "We are all well aware of the sort of thing we are going to find at the weekend and we have to be prepared for that.
"We are going to try to be as good as we can and make sure we don't let the home side have the advantage they will otherwise have.
"I think in these rounds people forget that the divisional status counts for very little, and it is about how you adapt on the day to the conditions, surroundings and environment.
"The home team is always the favourite in these rounds, so we need to make sure we are ready to face a very difficult game."
