Everton boss Lampard targeting Chelsea midfielder Gilmour - and striker teammate

Everton boss Frank Lampard is targeting Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.

The Daily Star says the Scotland international appears to have no future at Chelsea under manager Thomas Tuchel, who has not even handed him a squad number this season.

Lampard is a huge fan of the midfielder and knows him well from his time in charge at the Blues. The Toffees have been interested in Gilmour all summer but are ready to open talks over bringing in the Scotsman over the coming weeks.

Everton have also been linked with Michy Batshuayi as they look to sign a striker after losing Richarlison to Tottenham and the Belgian could still be part of a deal before the end of the window.

The injury to Abdoulaye Doucoure against Aston Villa on Saturday has alerted Lampard to the lack of depth in central midfield, where Andre Gomes, Allan and Jean-Philippe Gbamin continue to sit on the sidelines.
