According to EvertonTim Cahill is close to signing a new long-term deal at Goodison Park. Cahill still has two years to run on his contract, but Everton are hoping to tie down the Australian international to an extension that could see him end his career on Merseyside.
Toffees chief executive Robert Elstone is hopeful of securing Cahill on a new deal before he joins up with Australia for the World Cup.
"We are at an advanced stage of negotiation with Tim and his representatives and we would be hopeful of concluding an extension to Tim's current deal and put pen to paper on a new four-year contract before he departs for the World Cup," Elstone told the club's official website.
