Everton boss David Moyes is lining up a bid for Blackpool captain Charlie Adam.

The News of the World says Adam, 24, has spent the last 12 months leading the Seasiders to a stunning rise to the top flight of English football for the first time in 39 years.

His standing has risen dramatically in that time - with 16 goals - and now Moyes is ready to test his loyalty. The Everton chief wants a bigger squad for the forthcoming season after injuries denied the Toffees a European place.
