Everton and West Ham receive FA charge

Everton and West Ham United have both been charged by the Football Association.

Players from the Toffees and the Hammers were involved in an incident during last weekend's Premier League clash at Goodison Park and the clubs will now have to answer to the FA.

James McCarthy's 40th-minute tackle on Morgan Amalfitano prompted an angry reaction from West Ham which saw a fracas take place resulting in bookings for McCarthy and Hammers skipper Winston Reid.

The FA released the following statement regarding the charge: "It is alleged that in or around the 40th minute of the fixture, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

"The clubs have until 6pm on 1 December 2014 to respond to the charge."

Everton won the match after Leon Osman scored a 73rd-minute winner following Romelu Lukaku's opener and Mauro Zarate's equaliser ten minutes into the second half.
