Evans eager to 'kick on' from Man City debut

Manchester City youngster George Evans is now keen to build on his debut for the club.

City's 4-1 victory over Sunderland in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup fixture will always remain in the memory of Evans as the youngster made his debut for his boyhood club after coming through all youth levels.

Evans was understandably thrilled to make an appearance for the City first team and the defender has now stated that he is working very hard in order to earn more appearance for his beloved side in the future.

Evans told the Manchester Evening News: "I really want to kick on now. I have made my debut so now I have to go forward and try to get into the team. It was a great result and good team performance – hopefully we can keep progressing to the final.

"Playing any game for City's first team is an absolute dream but it's a case of step by step. I need to keep working hard and pushing to get into the team.

"I have not thought about another loan, I just wanted to nail down a place in the team. Training with these players every day has been fantastic experience for me – now I want a few more games for the first team.

"Training with these players has improved me massively. You are learning from the best in the world, and it's a challenge I am relishing."
