Benfica will take a slight advantage into their Europa League semi-final second leg with Juventus after edging the Italians 2-1 on Thursday night.
The Portuguese giants struck early when Ezequiel Garay powered home a header from Miralem Sulejmani's corner inside three minutes and managed to hold the lead until deep into the second half before the Bianconeri rallied.
Carlos Tevez, who had not scored in Europe since 2009, put the visitors back on level terms in the 73rd minute when he controlled a cross from Kwadwo Asamoah before driving past two defenders and firing home from inside the area.
However, Benfica substitute Rodrigo Lima climbed off the bench to slot home past Gianluigi Buffon from the edge of the box in the 84th minute to give the newly-crowned Portuguese champions a memorable victory.
The return leg at the Juventus Stadium next week will be a completely different monster, however, as Antonio Conte's Juve look to force their way into the May 14 final which will be played at their home in Turin.
