EUROPA LEAGUE: Lukaku and Mirallas on target as Everton overcome Wolfsburg

Everton have progressed to the Europa League's Round of 32 courtesy of a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Thursday night.

Roberto Martinez's Toffees have claimed top spot in Group H with their third win in five fixtures thus far, guiding them into the knockout phase of Europe's second tier club competition.

Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas were on target either side of the break at the Volkswagen Arena as the visitors added to their 4-1 win over Wolfsburg at home in September.

The opening goal came two minutes before half-time when Lukaku received a pass from Mirallas, before beating off a challenge from Junior Malanda, and then slotting home past Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio.

Aiden McGeady was the culprit when missing an absolute sitter early in the second half but thankfully for the Irish winger, Belgium international Mirallas again combined with compatriot Lukaku to wrap up the contest with around 15 minutes remaining.

It was an impressive performance from Everton who are so far undefeated in Europe this term ahead of their final group fixture against bottom-placed Kuban Krasnodar on December 11.
